• Markham Ribfest

  The sizzle officially returns to the Markham Fairgrounds for a massive three-day celebration of food and live music. Five of North America’s top professional "Pitmasters" will be competing and serving up award-winning BBQ smoked ribs, tender pulled pork, smoked brisket, and beef "Dino" ribs. Complete with midway rides, a variety of food trucks, and free concerts with your entry, it is a fantastic, pet-friendly outing that also supports a great cause.

  • Admission: $5 (Children 10 and under are free; a portion of proceeds benefits the MSH Foundation)

• Canada’s National Ballet School’s Free Summer Block Party

  Gather your family and friends to experience a joyful, energetic day of dance, music, and community connection. Celebrating its fifth annual milestone, this massive block party transforms Jarvis Street with 24 free dance workshops for all ages and skill levels—covering everything from beginner adult ballet to Kathak, Krump, and Afro-Caribbean rhythms. You can also enjoy carnival games, pop-up performances, and an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at Professional Ballet Program students training live inside the Betty Oliphant Theatre.

• International Ceramic Art Fair

  Art lovers can head to the Gardiner Museum for the opening weekend of this highly anticipated, prestigious exhibition. Moving to a significantly expanded 12-week format for 2026, the fair explores the deeply resonant theme of “the city and the commons,” examining how we live together in rapidly changing urban spaces through the material of ceramics. It features innovative, thought-provoking installations from leading Canadian and international artists, alongside specialized talks and tours.

  • Admission: $14 – $18 (Free for visitors 18 and under, or students with valid ID)

• Taste of Korea

  Experience the ultimate celebration of Korean culture right in Scarborough. This high-energy, immersive festival brings the absolute best of K-culture to the community. Visitors can indulge in popular authentic street foods like tteokbokki and Korean fried chicken, watch vibrant live K-pop vocal and dance showcases, join interactive K-drama panel discussions, explore trending K-beauty vendors, and even try on traditional Hanbok clothing.
