Toronto's Jane and Finch: A New Chapter Begins with Massive Redevelopment
The Jane and Finch neighborhood, a vibrant and diverse community in Toronto, is on the cusp of a monumental transformation. Jane Finch Mall, a longstanding community hub, is set to undergo a complete redevelopment that will reshape the area for decades to come. This isn't just a facelift; it's a strategic, community-focused evolution led by the renowned Toronto development firm, Hullmark, which has recently acquired a minority stake in the site.

Over the next 15 to 20 years, the 1911 Finch Avenue West site will be reimagined into seven new blocks, introducing an impressive 4,600+ residential units across a dozen new buildings. These structures will range from mid-rises to towering structures nearly 50 storeys tall, promising a significant increase in housing options for the city.
The first phase of this ambitious project is already taking shape, slated to include six towers, green parks, vibrant retail spaces, essential community facilities, and even a daycare. All of this will be conveniently located just steps away from the highly anticipated Finch West LRT, which is currently undergoing testing and is expected to open in the coming months. While the mall will remain partially open during this initial phase, the long-term vision will see a completely transformed landscape.

What makes this redevelopment particularly noteworthy is the personal connection driving Hullmark's involvement. Jeff Hull, President of Hullmark, emphasizes that this project holds deep significance for him, as his grandfather played a crucial role in building this very community decades ago. Now, Hullmark is returning to help lead its next significant chapter.
Brad-Jay Investments, the original developers of the mall, meticulously sought a partner who truly understood their local vision and shared their commitment to the community. They found that synergy with Hullmark, recognizing their long-term, community-first mindset as the ideal fit for this transformative endeavor.
For a neighborhood that has long been identified as needing increased investment in housing and public infrastructure, this redevelopment signals the dawn of a major turnaround. It represents a commitment to building a more complete, connected, and prosperous community for current and future residents.
