Taste of Asia

Do you love Asian cuisine and culture? Then you will enjoy the Taste of Asia festival, which is the largest Asian festival in Canada with over 180,000 attendees each year. The festival features over 150 food vendors, offering a variety of flavors from Thailand, Turkey, Singapore, Vietnam, Korea, the Philippines and more. You can also watch live performances and cooking demos from local and international artists and chefs. Did you know that Asian cuisine is one of the most diverse and complex in the world, with influences from different regions, religions, and histories? The festival takes place at 4300 Steeles Ave East, Markham, from June 23 to June 25. The admission is free and the hours are: 

 

Mississauga Butter Tarts & More Market

Do you have a sweet tooth? Then you will love the Mississauga Butter Tarts & More Market, which features thousands of delicious flavours of butter tarts, as well as other sweet treats such as candies, chocolates, cookies, biscotti and macaroons. You can also shop the artisan market and visit the Lakeview farmers market. The event also offers free entertainment and parking. Did you know that butter tarts are considered one of Canada’s quintessential desserts, with origins dating back to the early 1900s? The market takes place at SAIB, 1352 Lakeshore Road East, Mississauga, on June 25 from 09:00 AM to 02:00 PM. The admission is free. 

 


Pride Toronto Festival Weekend

Do you want to celebrate diversity and inclusion? Then you will love the Pride Toronto Festival Weekend, which is one of the largest Pride celebrations in North America. The festival features a variety of events and activities for all ages and interests, such as the annual Trans March, Dyke March, Bi+ Pride Programming, Blockorama by Blackness Yes, Pride Parade, StreetFair, and multiple stages featuring over 300 2SLGBTQ+ artists. Did you know that Toronto’s first Pride celebration was in 1972 as a protest against police raids on gay bathhouses? The festival takes place at Church and Wellesley Village, Toronto, from June 23 to June 25. The admission is free and the hours are: 

 




Fairbank Summerfest

Do you want to enjoy a summer carnival with a modern twist? Then you will enjoy the Fairbank Summerfest, which offers free admission, rides and entertainment along Eglinton Avenue West, West of Dufferin. The summerfest features food from around the world as well as a sidewalk sale that will remind you of a European Bazar. You can also enjoy free popcorn between 12-4 pm while supplies last. Did you know that Fairbank Village is one of Toronto’s oldest neighbourhoods with a rich history of immigration and multiculturalism? The summerfest takes place at Dufferin Street & Eglinton Ave W, Toronto, from June 23 to June 25. The hours are:
